The University revised Policy 4-004: University of Utah Information Security Policy and related rules to strengthen the information security policy and comply with state requirements. These revisions were initially put in place by President Randall as an interim policy change on September 12, 2023, and were finalized and approved by the Board of Trustees on November 14, 2023. Effective August 29, 2023, the University revised Rule R5-305A: Scope, Eligibility and Limitations for Reduced Tuition Programs to address the specific types of tuition to which the reduced tuition programs for employees apply. Effective August 8, 2023, the University revised Policy 3-110: Lease or Rental of Real Property for University Use to delete information about leasing equipment. Requirements for leasing equipment were moved to Rule R3-100E: Restricted Purchases and Special Procurement in 2022.
Effective June 12, 2023, the University revised Rule R3-030D: International Travel Safety and Insurance to clarify existing requirements for registering international travel and enrolling in insurance, to change the name of the International Travel Safety Review Committee to the Global Travel Oversight Committee, and to update the committee's responsibilities.
