Policy 6-101: Undergraduate Study and Degrees

The university approved revisions to Policy 6-101 to reduce the number of credits required for a baccalaureate degree from 122 to 120 beginning with the 2025-26 academic year. This change was required by state law and Utah Board of Higher Education policy.

Policy 1-015: Safety of Minors Participating in University Programs or Programs Held on University Premises

Effective March 11, 2025, the university revised Policy 1-015: Safety of Minors Participating in University Programs or Programs Held on University Premises to align the policy with best practices in youth protection and the university's current administrative structure for addressing youth protection. As part of this revision, the university incorporated Rule R1-015A: Safety of Minors- Code of Conduct and Reporting Obligations and Guideline G1-015B: Safety of Minors Participating in University Programs or Programs Held on University Premises into Policy 1-015.

Rule R7-200B: Principal Investigator Eligibility and Responsibilities in Sponsored Projects

Effective March 3, 2025, the university created Rule R7-200B: Principal Investigator Eligibility and Responsibilities in Sponsored Projects. This new rule incorporates existing standards and requirements established in the Office of Sponsored Projects' Research Handbook. In addition, the university revised Guideline G5-112C: Additional Benefits for Emeritus Retirees revised to reflect requirements related to eligibility of emeritus faculty members to service as principal investigators.

Changes to Rule R1-012A: University Non-discrimination Rule and Rule R1-012B: Complaint Process Rule

Effective February 13, 2025, the university revised Rule R1-012A: University Non-discrimination Rule and Rule R1-012B: Complaint Process Rule to comply with Title IX regulations promulgated by the Department of Education in 2020. These changes are necessary to comply with a ruling from a federal court and a directive from the Department of Education.

Rule R6-100B: Student Religious Accommodations

Effective January 6, 2025, the university created new Rule R6-100B: Student Religious Accommodations . This rule expands upon existing university policy addressing religious accommodations for students to comply with specific requirements in state law.
