Effective August 9, 2022, the University revised Policy 3-233: Operation of Motorized Vehicles on Pedestrian Walks to create specific routes for motor vehicles (motor vehicles are defined as motor vehicles that are registered and licensed with the Utah Department of Motor Vehicles and do not include bicycles, scooters, University grounds equipment, or golf carts) to use when traveling on pedestrian walkways.
Effective July 1, 2022, Procedure P3-100F: Procurement of Helium and Helium-Requiring Equipment is in effect to address the nationwide Helium shortage.
The University enacted Procedure P3-100E: Pre-Solicitation Market Research - Communication with Vendors to address the process for University Organizational Units to conduct market research when exploring potential purchases in a manner that promotes fairness and is intended to avoid conflicts of interest. The University enacted Policy 6-409: Graduate School Parental Leave and Rule R6-309A: Postdoctoral Fellows Parental Leave effective July 1, 2022. These regulations establish a University-wide uniform policy on parental leave for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. More information about the new policies can be found in the legislative history section of each regulation and additional guidance is forthcoming from the Graduate School and Office for Postdoctoral Affairs.
Effective June 14, 2022, the University revised Policy 5-108: Transfer of Benefits Eligible Staff Members to more accurately reflect situations under which a transferring benefits-eligible staff member may or may not receive a pay increase. In addition, the University made minor revisions to Policy 5-102: Staff Employment Policy and Policy 5-401: Staff Compensation to align these polices with the requirements in Policy 5-108.
