Policy 6-411: Student Records

Effective September 10, 2024, the University revised Policy 6-411: Student Records to meet a requirement related to the length of time a notation of a suspension for a behavior standards violation remains on a student's transcript, as required by Utah Board of Higher Education policy.

Changes to University Regulations in Response to 2024 H.B. 414: Due Process Amendments

Effective August 7, 2024, the University revised and created several interim regulations to comply with 2024 General Session H.B. 414: Due Process Amendments. This bill created requirements in state law related to the University's processes for addressing student and student organization violations of University regulations. These interim regulations include:  Interim Policy 6-400: Student Rights and Responsibilities Interim Rule R6-401A: Recognized Student Organization Classification Interim Rule R6-401B: Student Organization Violations of Law or Policy Interim Policy 6-402: Fraternal Social Organizations

Policy 1-012: University Non-Discrimination Policy and Related Regulations

Effective August 1, 2024 the University revised Policy 1-012 University Non-Discrimination Policy and Interim Rules R1-012A: Non-Discrimination Rule and R1-012B: Complaint Process Rule. The University also created Rule R1-012C: Student Pregnancy or Related Conditions Rule. These changes were made on an interim basis in response to federal Title IX Regulations.

Changes to Faculty Dismissal in Response to State Law

Effective July 5, 2024, the University revised Policy 6-011: Functions and Procedures of the Consolidated Hearing Committee, Policy 6-313: Terminations and Program Discontinuance, and Policy 6-316: Code of Faculty Rights and Responsibilities for compliance with recent changes to state law related to dismissal of faculty members due to a substantial program modification or cause and faculty member responsibilities. These changes were enacted as interim policies and will go through the normal policy review and approval process in the 24/25 academic year.

Changes in Response to H.B. 261: Equal Opportunity Initiatives

Effective July 1, 2024, the University revised multiple regulations to comply with requirements in state law established by 2024 General Session H.B. 261: Equal Opportunity Initiatives. These changes including revising references to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
