The university approved revisions to Policy 6-100: Instruction and Evaluation to take effect on August 1, 2026. These changes are intended to better align the policy with regulatory requirements and promote student success. In addition to revisions to the policy, the university moved requirements from the policy into rules to improve organization and access to information.
Recently Revised Regulations
The university approved revisions to Policy 5-211: University Independent Personnel Boards & Procedures for Complaints Under the Utah Protection of Public Employees Act to take effect May 6, 2026. These changes revise the definition of "retaliatory action" to comply with state law.
Effective April 14, 2026, the university retired Policy 5-118: Procedure for Recording Affiliations of Personnel Not Paid by the University. The policy referenced outdated processes and was no longer necessary.
Effective March 10, 2026, the university revised Policy 3-233: Operation of Vehicles on Pedestrian Walks to match existing practices and to clarify the types of motor vehicles to which the policy applies. This policy changes does not affect bicycles or scooters, including e-bikes or electric scooters, which are governed by Policy 3-232.
Effective February 13, 2026, the university revised Rule R5-200B: Paid Time Off (PTO), Holidays, Paid Parental Leave, and Other Paid and Unpaid Leave for University of Utah Health, Hospitals and Clinics Staff Members to clarify that an employee is not eligible for a leave of absence with pay to appear in court if the employee is appearing in court on their own behalf (e.g. to pay a traffic fine).
