Effective August 11, 2026, the university created Rule R6-500B: University Catalog and Curriculum Change Cycle and revised Policy 6-101: Undergraduate Study and Degrees to bring requirements related to the university catalog and a student’s assigned catalog year into alignment with national practice and federal Title IV (financial aid) regulations.
Recently Revised Regulations
Effective August 11, 2026, the university revised portions of Policy 3-030: Travel Policy that specifically address travel by the university president or the university president's partner to comply with recent changes in Utah Board of Higher Education Policy R212: Chief Executive Travel Oversight.
Effective August 1, 2026, the university revised Rule R6-100B: Accommodations in Courses for Students' Religious and Conscience Beliefs. This revision combines existing university regulations related to accommodations for schedule and accommodations for content and revises the rule to comply with Utah Code Section 53H-7-903 and Utah Board of Higher Education Policy R264.
Effective June 10, 2026, the university revised Policy 6-500: Curriculum Management and Administration to require that combined bachelor's and master's programs first confer the bachelor's degree upon completion of bachelor's degree requirements and then confer the master’s degrees in so-called “4+1” pathways. Previously, the policy required the bachelor’s degree to be conferred only upon completion of the master’s degree.
The university approved revisions to Policy 6-100: Instruction and Evaluation to take effect on August 1, 2026. These changes are intended to better align the policy with regulatory requirements and promote student success. In addition to revisions to the policy, the university moved requirements from the policy into rules to improve organization and access to information.
